Dave m
okSo I will need to be able to move a trampoline that is about 14 feet in diameter upwards for storage while being able to get it down again easily without major issuesI have a single electric winch available and don't intend to hold it on the winch- just use it to get it in the airActual storage woul be via four strops and caribinas with a frame above RSJHaving tried this before, with a kind of giant lampshade I know that a single lift point on a circular object can cause it to tilt and hang vertically on the way upAny ideas how to keep it horizontal? We can use guide ropes Cheers
trussmonkey
Multiple pick ups from the trampoline (4 would be best) to a single O ring/Masterlink on the hoist. No need for guide ropes unless you need to maneuver the tramp for some reason in the air. Do not use a karabiner in place of the master link. Karabiners are not designed for loads in different directions no matter how small the loads are. TM
Dave m
CheersYes was planning on 4 strops to control the load but was worried that the CoG might tilt it.I have plenty of time to do some low level experiments
ImagineerTom
As a rule of thumb / fag packet calculation If the apex of the 4 strops is higher that the length of the radius (ie so the strops are at 45degrees or steeper) then it will lift "flat" naturally; a lesser angle and/or weird off-centre loads will make it go up not-flat.
