IRW
Hi All,Just wondering if anyone has any bright ideas as to how to stick harlequin dancefloor (the cheap stuff) down to a concrete floor? (We might as well be talking current building site to describe the state of the room- site specific, yay!) This is only a very temporary thing that needs to last a couple of weeks tops, and it is quite a large (and in places unevenish) area, so boarding out first isn't an option. Putting down some sort of concrete sealant in places might be an option, but wouldn't be ideal. The dancefloor is going to be painted, and is not going to stretch to the edges of the room, so something may need to be done at the edges as well as below the joins. Can anyone recommend maybe an incredibly sticky tape that we could put down first, and then use NEC tape on top of? Happy to entertain other ideas for adhesion, but whatever we do needs to come back up again, without leaving too much behind. A few points:-The harlequin floor is already owned-People will be walking across it.-Small scenic items will be getting pushed around on it.-It won't stretch to the edge of the room-We can't make too much mess of the concrete subfloor.-Whatever option we go with needs to be reasonably inexpensive. Thanks, Ian
abbotsmike
Very wide gaffer? We've used it when crossing roads in the past, and it's lasted for several hours with no problem. I spoke to lemark about it and they said they could do almost any width. Maybe some of their extra sticky stuff in a wide roll?

andy_s
I would think making sure the concrete surface is completely clean, dry and dust-free before laying the sticky tape will be preparation time well spent.
empyfree
As above, clean clean clean... and if allowed do put some sealant down around the perimeter line. You'll be able to get a decent bond with both double sided tape and an edging of good gaffs to stop it lifting/rolling.
IRW
Thanks for all suggestions- after a bit of experimentation, it seems like a good clean, followed by Gorilla Tape, with NEC tape down on top seems like the way to go.
