Mazz
Hi, Does anybody on this forum own Showtec Powerspots ? I have 48 in my hire stock, 5 of which have developed the same fault, the white leds stop working. No surprise on opening the units to find burning on the pcb. Not sure what component has failed, as the combustion is total. When asked about this, it was news to Highlite - never heard of a problem with them. But hey are happy to supply 5 pcb's at a cost of £185 ! Now the reason I ask, is that back in the day, I had some Explorer 575 moving heads from Showtec, who's ballasts had a habit of exploding ( hence the nickname Exploder 575 ) I know of two other hire companies who had the same problem with them, and had talked to Highlite about it. Their response to me when asked about the exploding ballasts, was to state that they had not heard of any problems. A blatant lie. I wonder if the same thing is happening here ? KevinE
5 out of 48 sounds ok to me these days. I've been to plenty of nightclubs where much higher-end lighting not that old have had error codes on the heads....its the sort of thing I notice
