Bazz339
I am struggling to find a replacement Peavey 1505-DT 4Ohm speaker for our local scout hut. Barnes and Mullins don't seem to have one. Any other source for a new one? Anyone doing recones? They are an inherited old pair. My recommendation is they replace with new, probably Peavey 15" Messengers.I would however like to get this cab working for use on stage.
MarkPAman
Should be a simple do-it-yourself basket replacement - less than a 5 minutes job with the correct spanner/socket set. Any Peavey dealer should be able to order one for you. I thought the 4 ohm version was only fitted in guitar, keyboard & bass amps though, are you sure that's the one you need? See here. Fairly certain it says 4 OHM on the cab and maybe on the driver and crossover. I will check.
Bazz339
Sorry to reboot this thread after so long. The cost of spares, unknown history and age make me think that replace with new is a better option for the scout hut. I was looking at the Peavey Messenger Pro 15s but they don't seem to be readily available in this country although Thomann have some. Has anyone heard or had any experience of the Turbosound TPX152s? I am looking for something that can do a bit of music, speech, the odd disco etc., be reasonably reliable and that might have spares available should they be required. Suggestions for other makes also considered, probably looking at something around the £200 per cab price.
