Which Head Mics

Well, I can tell you they don't like any of the top of the line Sennheiser, DPA or Earthworks versions or even the cheap but useable imitations of the foregoing. I'm not sure why you'd worry about finding anything so visually obtrusive but if I was going to look, I'd be checking brands aimed at tour guides and corporate presentations.

I thought for a while that they were the ones from Audix, but these are more obtrusive.

If it's the look that you're wanting then the Audix HT5 might be what you're after. Might be worth doing some digging to see what was used on the early productions of RENT - they had very obvious headset microphones that were very much used as part of the "look" of the piece. The Jesus Christ Superstar stadium tour also used very obviously pronounced headsets, though of course it's a very different kind of production.

They look a bit like (but are not!) some old Sennheiser frames that I once had, which could be used to convert a MKE2 or similar to a headworn.

Yep, they are indeed the Sennheiser NB2

I don't miss these, the metal inside the rubber always seemed to break quite easily as cast members found ever more weird and wonderful shapes to bend them into!

I suspect many of us have, certainly before the ready availabilty of headset mics, made similar with available mics (MKE2s), coathangers and heatshrink.

Kate Bush did this first

Thanks all For your help
