alopex
We have a number of ETC Source 4 Zooms and one of them blows bulbs on a very regular basis. If you touch the lamp peaking knob it blows the bulb straight away. I have had the unit apart but can't see anything physically wrong with it. Are there any replaceable parts and if so can anyone tell me where to get them from.
david.elsbury
What condition is the lamp base in? Are the pins of the lamp tarnished?

Jivemaster
Usual mechanism for lamps going short life is hot contacts in the lamp holder soften their grip on the pins so the contact gets poor (to intermittent) then the pins burn (further softening the contact springs) til the lamp fails, leaving you with a dud connector to push the next lamp into. Cure is (when cold!) a total clean up and a new lamp holder. Ultimately a new manufacturers part lampholder is cheaper than a series of new lamps.
