BenEdwards Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Another type of lantern we have been offered for £50 with barn doors/bonds/frames. Anyone know anything about them. Cant find anything on net or this forum.
gareth Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 Post some photos. Also, this might be better lumped in with your Silhouette thread.

dbuckley Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 BR doesn't like image links with question marks in them. Recommend using a URL shortener. I used those ADBs, as well as the sils! Early 80s this would be. My memories of them is that there were OK, for their day, but I vastly preferred the Strand 743/243 big lens frezzies. I'd not use the ADBs as a first choice lantern today, if I had the choice, having been spoiled by the more modern 650W fixtures like the Acclaims, which would make the ADBs look rather dim, but, in the same breath, if that is what I had to light a show with, I'd smile and get on with it. They are entirely usable in the amateur context. There's a bit of info on the ADB 1K in the Blue Room Wiki, though I don't know if they are the same model, I'm vaguely aware that there have been a few generations of the ADB 1K.

Thanks, we went for a couple of Patt 743s they had and 5 Strand Prelude F 650w. Its not a huge stage and although everyone got very exited when they saw there were 743s they only has 2. Ben
