CARWYN
Hi GuysI need to disable the on board controls on a Technika TV. we have one in the foyer for marketing reasons and someone is turning the volume down to mute all the time or changing the input source etc. I have the tv to automatically turn on and off to the right time and to the right input so switching on and off is not a problem. I just need to stop people fidling with the buttons Talk SoonCarwyn
peza2010
I would presume because of the brand of tv this probably wont be on on board option. More than likely it will be a case of disconnecting the ribbon cable to the buttons. Not a great fix, but I would imagine your choices are very little. bruce
Actually, since it’s a d0mest1c telly, the chances of there being a setting to disable the buttons is quite high.. You don’t say what model it is, but googling suggests that some Technica models have a “child lock” feature, which may do just what you want. KevinE
The technika will be made by one of the big OEM manufacturers such as UMC (United Media) or Vestel so it will almost certainly have a Hotel mode. You'll need to access the engineer's menu then you can set max and min volume, power-on options and whether or not to allow the front panel buttons. Most OEMs have the same engineer access procedures across their own models.
