djmatthill
Hello .. Im thinking I should really know the answer to this one but my brain has turned to mush. .... I have a Allen and Heath mixer with built In USB sound card. We need to configure the Windows PC to only record or monitor the Left Channel from the USB mixer.. I can't see an option on the mixer to separate or pan the USB send and there is no apparent balance slider in the Windows 7 "recording sounds" app in control panel. We are using the L and R outputs on the mixer so we can't simply not raise the Right hand slider either.... The feed is being sent to the Skype App and there is no balance slider there either as Skype Sums both channels to monoDoes anyone know of a hack in Win 7 or some 3rd party app that can take control of windows recording inputs etc that allows Balance and Panning ? Your help on this is greatly appreciated.
MarkBarl
Depending on which application you are using to record on the Windows PC you should be able to select a single channel to record.
djmatthill
Hi Mark... we aren't actually recording ... the feed is being sent to a Skype App... no option there to use single channels ?
timsabre
For some reason MS has hidden this in control panel for W7 Go to Hardware & Sound -> Sound, click on the Recording tab, click on the USB input device, click on properties at the bottom, then on the new window click Levels. At least on my pc this has a balance option

dbuckley
Anybody know of any 3rd party Apps that take control of windows sound settings ?Not quite "an app to take control of Windows sound settings", but a mixer application: Voicemeeter from VB-Audio might be what you need.
