.... but can someone tell me what the H&S guidelines are for an amateur theatrical company of approx 40 people that use council facilities (i.e. we don't own the venues or rehearsal rooms, if this makes a difference).

What are the legal requirements and obligations for a group in these circumstances? Most information I can find talks about employers and employees, and I don't know whether this applies as we are all volunteers doing a hobby.

I may just be rather daft about this, but I hope someone can clarify this for me, as it's all a bit fuzzy at the moment :D

You are a Company but not a limited one. You are Working though not for pay. The acts that apply to work and companies all apply. Additionally the officers of your committee can be personally liable for the actions or omissions of the members. Also there will be an obligation to be and ensure competance in subject areas where skill is not proven or training is not provided.
