vbm Posted May 15, 2015 Posted May 15, 2015 Hi Blue Roomerinos- I have some custom-made 4-channel LED starcloths which use a 6-pin connector to join them. The cloths are powered via a combined PSU/DMX box so I assume the output of this box is low-voltage, although I don't know if its AC or DC output. I need some extension cables for the cloths, the supplier of the cloths has quoted me fairly daft prices for these cables and I figure that the connectors must be available from RS, CPC or somebody similar. So, my question to you good Blue Room people is, before I start wading through hundreds of web pages of obscure connectors, is there anybody who knows or recognises these connectors and can say "oh yeah, its a xyz123"? Here's some pictures of the male and female connectors (sorry they're so big!) http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f153/martindudley/scp1_zpsrd1tqste.jpg http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f153/martindudley/scp3_zpsbhgqqr5c.jpg http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f153/martindudley/scp2_zps6zuna4zt.jpg Any ideas? Thanks in hopeful anticipation, Martin.
IRW Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 Hmm...looks a bit like some of the connectors on my car! Maybe try trawling through some automotive sections of catalogues?
Don Allen Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 The metal microphone connectors seem used on the starcloth controllers I have come across Starcloth controller . There is a thread on these Multipole mic connectors on the Blue Room. I recommend changing over to the metal ones so it is cheaper to make extension leads. Someone may have a generic wiring pinout for the metal ones.
matt c Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 Those are definitely automotive. Possibly Deutsch / TE. Are there markings of any sort on them?
