Nipper Posted May 13, 2015 Posted May 13, 2015 Hi all Can anybody help.I run 4 Bose 892 speakers with a Bose 802 c controller powered by a crown 1500 power amp,I want to add a couple of 15" subs through the controller ,What power amp should I get/use and what ohm should the speakers be .Many thanks
Solstace Posted May 13, 2015 Posted May 13, 2015 I know they're not 15" - but surely the correct answer is:Another "Crown 1500 power amp" (whatever that is) and a pair of Bose 302's, given your current rig? Edited to ask: Any chance of some more info on what it is you're doing with the present rig, and why you're asking specifically about 15" subs?
Nipper Posted May 13, 2015 Author Posted May 13, 2015 I use this rig for band performance. 302s would be the obvious answer, but at 52 kgs each there just to big for what I can transport and carry. Our venues are not massive but sometimes we need a bit more sound so 15"/18'would be a compromise.
sleah Posted May 14, 2015 Posted May 14, 2015 If you can some, Bose 502B's are pretty well as good as straight replacement for the 302. Almost half the physical size and a fair bit lighter, but otherwise essentially similar performance. :)
djmatthill Posted May 14, 2015 Posted May 14, 2015 Years ago we used 4 802s with some 15" celestion scoop bins powered by a 1200w DNA amp. Sounded sweet as using the 802c.... Also if you re looking for budget bass bins . I also used a pair of Peavey Hi sys 115s that were 4ohm rated with the 802s .. They sounded great too eBay price for a pair 150 quid ish..
Jivemaster Posted May 14, 2015 Posted May 14, 2015 I've heard a Mackie powered 15 with crossover used with a pair of 802s. The mackie bin takes the stereo signal and creates a summed bass but sends mid and top out in stereo so send that to an amp for the Bose.

I looked at a couple of active mackie 15 and they advised running them through the aux on mixer!
