MickieMackieMoo Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 Afternoon.. I'm just in the middle of over hauling 6 Miniscan HPE's, the problem is I haven't worked on these units for ages... and I can not remember which way the fans are meant to blow! Just to help the units I have are not all the same... So don't know which ones are correct or not The picture below is how I think the fans should be... Can any one help me on this please.... http://i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn181/Michael_Munford/minscan_zpsil2gno8b.jpg
niclights Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 Both should be extract. The small one for ballast and the large one for lamp.
gyro_gearloose Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 Or you could do away with one of the fans and convert them to LED ;) Edit: While you're at it, you might want to cut the cast grill away from the smaller fan and replace it with a wire grill. This will make your units quieter and cooler, as the cast grill really restricts airflow and causes huge amounts of turbulence and therefore noise! Edit again: that mirror on your Miniscan looks like a conventional mirror, and not a front-surface mirror. If you get an odd double image when projecting a gobo, for example, that will be why.
MickieMackieMoo Posted May 9, 2015 Author Posted May 9, 2015 Worth a try, but don't suppose anyone on here has any dead miniscan hpe's or a unit that being broken for spares Need a complete lens& some casing
