S&L
So, any ideas where I can go and try/look at desks? for the qu, PMT in manchester carry them in stock, Arran Paul in Blackpool both hire and sell. I have a colleague I work with who has a qu16 he can demo at our base for you subject to availability the x32 is harder to see in wild for demo because of the way it's sold - mostly through the big box shifting music retailers. I have had a lot of help from blue room members in the past - even free stuff in the post - so im more than happy to put in my own time though I'm not a salesman. what goes around comes around.I'm happy to to demo the x32 either at our base in preston or on site in the north west area (particularly since there are two of you!) Electrolytic
X32 is nice an chunky Qu feels cheap, those elliptical rubber buttons kids will pick at.
Nick Davis
If you are concerned about Behringer - although from the same company and if budget is not an issue - get a M32 or a M32r - the build is more robust (e.g.the faders) so may have a more pro-longed life in a school environment. In fact a M32r is not much different from the original price of the full X32 when it was first released.
simploerob
The x32 is great desk to teach people on. My 11 year old picked it up easier then the m7. We run it off the iPad app with great success One of the guys that borrowed it on trial bought the m32 but I am yet to see it.!! Simon

tomo2607
Im a little late to reply, but we have recently purchased the full X32 console along with the digital multi. So far its been faultless. Very versatile and covers everything our school has needed. Don't be put off by the branding... despite the low price, the desk is perfect for schools that need a mid size console. Dan Gruner
People here shoot down the LS9, however they are built like a tank and able to cope with the rough and tumble of school life better than an X32 and even Qu series (talking from experience here). I wouldn't write it off as a sensible option - other than going for QL/CL series..! Dan
Bobbsy
If you're teaching kids don't worry about it having to be an "easy" digital or it be in any way like an old analogue desk. You're talking about a generation who view iPads in the same way we do pen and paper. Assuming budget is an issue you really won't go wrong with an X-32, or if the budget would run to it an M-32. I only half agree with the new generation thing. Yeah, they're used to using computers and tablets BUT, in order to use a digital mixer, you have to understand how mixing works, i.e. faders, sub groups, masters, aux sends, etc. You need to be sure they understand what they need to do before assuming they have the chops to just do it. I would however add the x32 or M32 to you short list.

Dan Hmm, on the many grounds I still like the LS9, that certainly isn't one of them - the knobs on the processing strip are extremely easy to break, and if superglue doesn't suffice to fix it, the repair is neither cheap nor simple.
