deskkky
Hello I am lighting a dance type show soon, medium size venue/stage, Im after ideas on color lighting. We have have some TRI type LED fixtures and some 5mm ones. My first thought was to put the tri ones in the front of house position and the others over the stage, but I've noticed some shows have no foh coluor (only white wash) and all the colour comes from over stage and back lighting. Is this the way to go? many thanks :)
Guest
For dance I would always look to go for colour from over head, sides and back. Personally I sometimes don't even use anything FOH as most dances it's all about the shapes and positions as opposed to the faces and expressions. c0astman
Generally, if the show has kids in it, parents like to see the faces of their little starlette's, so enough general cover to achieve that. Then if its chart/pop type dance backlight, otherwise lots of side light using different colurs to emphasise the depth of stage...
