grahamrobertslx
Hi Guys Quick question, 15A Plugs. Ive just received some new 15A plugs, new, that have no sleeving on the pins. I seem to recall a a new requirement that 15A plugs need to have sleeves on the pins these days. Could somebody clarify this for me please. jonathanhill
As far as I am aware, there is no requirement within BS546 for sleeved pins on 2A, 5A, 15A or 30A plugs. Permaplug tend to offer a sleeved plug, whereas Duraplug do not. BS1363 was revised in 1984 to include sleeved pins on line and neutral only. Jivemaster
Not a BS compliance issue, but could possibly be an issue with some contracts especially if schools and children may be involved.
adam2
In my view all new or replacement 15 amp plugs should have sleeved pins, that however is my view of good practice and is not a regulatory requirement.
