c0astman
Hi Ergie Assuming you can find the fixtures in the fixture list on the right side of the screen, you can drag them across to the DMX addresses you require. If you are doing this on a PC connected to a desk, to almost always need to connect the Universes to the desk in the software to get them to work. Close to the top right corner is a button to "Connect Universes". Press that then connect universe 1 to the desk output in the right box. This is always the thing I forget to do when moving between my T2 and S3. Shout if you need more help
jack2609
HI Elena, As Andy says the patch should be as simple as finding your fixtures on the right hand side within the factory library and then dragging these across to the left to your desired start address. What are the make and models of the fixtures you are trying to patch ? With this information I will be able to provide specific instructions for you. In the mean time Jands have some really good tutorial videos, these can be viewed by clicking here. The video you need is number 2:Patching. Does the video help you ? If not please feel free to give me a call on +44 (0) 1494 838 323 and I would be happy to talk you through it on the phone step by step. Hope this helps. Mr Steve
Another thing to check, depending on how far you are getting with this, is that your fixtures are in the correct mode compared with the fixture personality you are patching on the desk. Ergie
Thank you for your reply gentleman, I did looked at videos, I managed connect Universe, but problem I have that my specific lights do not respond correctly when I trying to apply effects or simple change gobols or anything else. I think is it me do not address them properly or I do not use options correctly? when I worked with Version 1, it worked perfectly. Jack, I appreciated your help already, Ben helped me to connect to Universe, I forgot how to do it. You got course on Vista next week in Leeds but I can not make it. :-(. Next course in South is February, but show must be finished in January. I will do test show from scrath follow all videos to get know the software, but I want to be sure that my lights patched and addressed properly before I am starting to programme. Hi again Elena, Whilst we do run regular training courses throughout the year we usually take a short break over Christmas as we have found in the past that most people are off working over December and into January, hence the reason for the gap in our schedule as you have noticed. Having said this we are available 24/7 to answer any question a Jands Vista operator may have. We are able and willing to help you at any moment. Please don't be afraid to call me if ever you get stuck. The only stupid question is one that does not get asked. Everything else is ok :P Now I know the fixtures I understand why you may be having issues.Taking the iSolution iColor 4 as an example this fixture does not have colour mix control channels ( such as RGB ) . It has a single DMX channel which is split into macro ranges within the fixture itself. The user manual does not actually dictate the colours within the fixtures software, it just says colour 1, colour 2, colour 3 etc. Because of this the factory profile in Vista, provided by Carallon, simply mirrors the information supplied by the manufacturer of the light ( which is nothing! ) resulting in no colour picker control since we have never been told which DMX value is which colour. You can of course select these macros within Vista. ( Click on the colour feature palette > at the bottom you will see Channel 1 : colour > press this and it is there where you will find the macros of the fixture ) . There is a much better way of doing this though. This would be to create a " 32 slot colour wheel" with which the colour picker would then start to work with. If you can tell me the 32 colours I can get this over to you in no time at all. A similar thing happens with the DynoScan - There is no colour control. It is my understanding that the colour is provided WITH the fixed gobo. Regarding the Qspot I need to know which version and control mode you are working with to provide a correct analysis. In all of these cases it makes the most sense to communicate directly with you off BlueRoom. We can even do a Skype session or something similar to ensure that you are up and running with the fixtures you have in the fastest possible time. I will email / call you in addition to this thread. Speak soonJack

In all honesty I only had a quick glance at the DMX chart in the user manual. I did however speak to Elena on the phone last night and it appears hers do use the macros.. We are going to work together on Monday to work out what the colours in the macros ranges are so that we can update our Vista profile accordingly and get everything working in the most efficient way. Thanks for everybody's assistance :)
