Pro-Quality LED Pars (Late 2014 edition)

Hi Matt,

Would be interested to know what you found out on this, as I have a similar problem at the moment.

I have both Source 4 LED2 profiles and Chauvet Q560Zs in Toronto, and whilst I would put the Source 4 LED profiles on any show, the Q560Zs are more problematic. They have great zoom and intensity, and the pan/tilt is a bonus, but I've found they have three problems for most theatre use - their low-end dimming is terrible, they glare quite badly (and no way to attach barndoors / spill-rings / top hats) and their fans are noisy even when dark. They're getting a lot of use, but I wouldn't buy any more.

So I'm looking for something to use in place of the Q560Zs in most of my theatre shows. The Source 4 LED2 profiles have excellent dimming / colour mixing - and are silent - so I was thinking about the Desire D60s as they seem to have a similar 7-colour engine to the Source 4 LED2s. The ColorSource Pars seem to be a third of the price, though, and whilst they are not 7-colour they may be good enough for LED par type uses? But if you've come across something better than those ETC products, I would be interested to look at them as well.

Thanks,

David

We have a bunch of the rush par1 and par2's,

The attached images give you an idea of brightness v's normal warehouse light. Curve is pretty nice imho, I cant recall the lower end, it was the tail end of a very long day when I took the pic.

About 6m from unit to surface I guess that wash is about 6m wide as well.
