mcwillt05 Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 Hello, I have downloaded the a RFR app on a Samsung tab3 and bought a wireless router to connect to the ion. in network settings it says the ion is connected to the router and the tablet connects over wifi to the router. BUT! in the set up that ETC tell you how to set up the wireless connection see below! the button to enable wifi remote does not come up! meaning I can not enable to use the remote. so all the app is saying is that the desk is offline!. any help please!1 Connecting to Your Eos Family Console On your console, you will need to make sure that RFR support has been enabled. 1. First, in the ECU select {Settings}. 2. Select {RFR} and make sure the {Enable WiFi Remote} box is checked. http://www3.etcconnect.com/Community/resized-image.ashx/__size/550x0/__key/CommunityServer.Wikis.Components.Files/products/7041.eos_5F00_rfr.png 3. Click {Accept} to exit.
IRW Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 I think that guide must be referencing an old version of the software- the wifi option is now in the 'Network' section, under 'Interface Protocols' Ian
mcwillt05 Posted November 1, 2014 Author Posted November 1, 2014 Hello that is enabled! But still not working is it certain network settings I need to do??
IRW Posted November 2, 2014 Posted November 2, 2014 Network troubleshooting is not necessarily easy even when you're sat in front of a computer connected to it...try helping us to help you by posting some of your settings! What IP addresses/subnet settings do you have on all of your devices? Can you ping the router or tablet from the console?
tommulliner Posted November 2, 2014 Posted November 2, 2014 If you haven't already, I'd post your query over at the ETC Forums. They're are very good with the network stuff.
JDLX Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 I would recommend using a manual IP address for the board that is in the same IP range as the dhcp server on your router. It may have been re-issued by the router and is now different to the one you have in your aRFR settings. Failing that you could try manual IP addresses for all devices. I have had some issues setting up these networks in the past on dhcp.
alistermorton Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 As an alternative, get the DHCP server to always give the ion the same address. Achieves the same effect as a manual address.
