IA76 Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 Hi Is it possible to capture video from a HD PTZ IP cam? We need a device that will convert the video to HDMi so we can send it to projectors and a dvr. What do you suggest? I saw this mentioned on a forum http://www.geovision.com.tw/english/Prod_GVIPDecoderBox.asp
timsabre Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 Is this a camera you already have? The image lag will be tremendous, you'd be much better to start off with a camera which has hdmi if this is an option.
IA76 Posted October 25, 2014 Author Posted October 25, 2014 We haven't got the IP PTZ cam but were just considering if it would work instead of using the more expensive http://www.datavideo.info/PTZ+Cameras/PTC-120 If it's not realtime then it's nto worth using the IP cam.
timsabre Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 Definitely far from realtime, you will probably have more than a second delay by going ip then converting to hdmi. We have the datavideo ptc100 (previous model) at church and they also have a bad delay of about 12 frames on all outputs. I don't know what the newer model is like but I'd advise testing a sample unit first if you need real time video.
