Hi all.

I have a magnum 850 with no remote and dont really want to buy a new one as I only need it to test a few ideas in the workshop. I was wondering if anyone has the same unit who could tell me if its possible to put together a simple circuit to get it workin? before I lost it a seem to remember the only bein 4 wires used on the cat5 connector which are used if anyone would be able to send a few pics of the board and connector so I can put together something to get it workin that would be great :)

Thanks

The Blue Room search is a bit very pants - much better to do a Google search and add site:blue-room.org.uk to the end.

Somewhere, I have the document for this, but I can't find it just now.

As I recall there are 5 lines to the remote which you may be able to figure out by probing voltages

Ground

+12V

Heat active (goes high when heating, used to light red led)

Ready (goes high when ready, used to light green led)

Control line - Below 1V this turns the heaters off. 1V-2V turns the heaters on but no smoke. 2V-10V sets variable smoke output.

So basically you need to hold the control line at 1V until it's heated, then take it to 10V to make full blast smoke.
