MIKE900
I am using a Soundcraft EFX 8 for mixing live sound for a band. I currently use the mono output (unbalanced mono sum of L+R ) into channel 1 of graphic then FOH amps, (I cant use both L + R main outputs as only one channel of graphic is for FOH ). Is this the best output to use? Will I get the same result just using Left main out? Thanks Mike
Shez
As long as every mono channel is panned the same, then yes, both the L and R outputs will be the same as the mono sum. Be aware of plugging in stereo sources though - they won't be the same...
Oldradiohand
This is the correct way to do this. Stereo sources will be correctly mixed to mono (assuming they are compatible) but your mono output will be higher than your LR metering so don't overpeak too much. Keep an eye on the level going into the graphic.
