STCM_Tech
Hey Guys I know the symbols for generic fixtures [parcan, profiles, etc…..] but is there any symbols for LED fixtures? Thanks
david.elsbury
The most important thing about a lighting plan is that the key explains what the symbols mean. So you can usually use whatever you like. I have seen par shapes with a triangle of dots to indicate a led par
mac.calder
I fully agree with David - provided you have a key, you could use a picture of a duck to indicate a led par for all I would care. I get lighting plans sent to me some days which are squares and circles, I have had others where they have just used different coloured markers and short lines on the bar to indicate different fixtures (or even different purposes) - as long as there is a key off to one side, I will be able to follow the plan. That said, triangle of dots in the lamp location on the fixture seems to be fairly standard for indicating that the fixture uses an LED light source. Stu
To expand further on the LED dots, I get the impression from reading the USITT symbol standard that the number of the dots represents the colours of the LEDs present - so 4 dots would be RGBW (for instance) and 5 dots RGBAW etc etc.
