Employed person 1 Anyone under a contract of service or apprenticeship with you 2 Anyone who is...a employed by you or on your behalf on a labour only basisb self employedc hired to you or borrowed by you from another employerd a voluntary helper or taking part in a work experience or training scheme ...and under your control or supervision So, your typical freelancer is very much, as far as Axa business insurance goes, an employee in category 2a and as an employee you have limited exposure to risk in the event of it going tits-up. If you're not an employee as defined above then you're a business and BECTUs insurance isn't meant for you and in fact doesn't cover you.
