jonathanhill Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 Ever so slightly safer but still not ideal No so much with the idiot pushing the box right under the boom of the telehandler....
itiba Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 Haha I was going with the truss being tied off to the tele rather than just resting on the forks :P OT but this is what can happen when assembling a truss column with a helecopter (you can tell I've had a productive day!)
kerry davies Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 And even in that Copter one there is a guy right underneath who catches the wire to try to avoid the incident. In all these things it is best to remember the Skewen WarCry of "Run away, run away!"
Roderick Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 It is actually the guy who catches the wire that caused the accident. Look at the video carefully and you'll see that the cable is on a winch under the copter, slowly being winched in.The loop that is left keeps it out of the rotors' way. When the guy grabs it and pulls it tight he changes the angle and causes it to be caught in the rotor. The accident happened when they were building a christmas tree a few years ago in NZ.Another reason to ban that pagan fest
