cj_sat69
Hi guys just joined this forum as I have heard alot about it. I currently have a pair of martin mini macs and a pair of american dj scanners. I have someone selling a pair of GLP YPOC 250's. Do you think I should hold onto the martins or go for the GLP's as the mini macs are in need of a service orrrr shall I just buy a pair of mac 250's? what do you guys think thanks cj
GridGirl
What are you using them for? More info needed before we can help!
mrboo
Mac 250`s are now old just like mini macs you will have to give them lots of TLC but they will look after you if you look after them. the GLP YPOC 250's will be hell to get spares for. cj_sat69
Im a mobile dj so use them on the road, im also thinking of installing them in my mates bar after they have been serviced. I think ill just hold on tot them. Where is the best place to get parts or them such a fan and the colour gobo wheel as some of the glass has been scratched and started to chip. paulears
If the glass has started to chip INSIDE then they've had a hard enough life I'd not touch them with a barge pole. Never buy knack erred, old, mismatched lights. The damn things are just too unreliable. Much as it pains me to say it, I'd buy some new, three year warranties led kit! I have four identical older 575w discharge fixtures, and three now have small faults, dodgy ballast, pcb, nosy motors etc. the cost for all the needed parts will be a waste because they will still be ten years old, waiting for the next fault. smalljoshua
I've got to agree with Paul here, something such as the Showtec Indigo 4600 will be brighter, faster and quieter than a Mac250 and come with a 3 year warranty from Thomann. http://www.thomann.de/gb/showtec_indigo_4600.htm Josh
