Brownlingii Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 Howdy, Does anyone know of a good electrical course that is aimed towards Theatre?? Not just a PAT course. In or around the south east is preferred as is cheap! But any info is helpful. Thanks!!!
Rob Harris Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 City and Guilds do a qualification in Theatre Electrics, C&G1810 (I think. As C&G update their courses they change the numbers). A quick google will come up with training centres near you that are offering this course
jonathanhill Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 It appears that the 181/1810 course is now defunct. From the C&G website there does not seem to be a theatre electrics qualification. Because of the specialist nature of these courses, and the expense required for teaching equipment, these courses are never cheap. If you have the time, a City & Guilds 2330 in Electrotechnical Technology deals with all aspects of electrical installation and will give a thorough understanding of electrics. Is there something specific that you require knowledge on, can the collective might of the forum help?
Just Some Bloke Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 If a 1-day introduction is of any use to you, the Stage Electrics 'Electricity in the Entertainment Environment' course is very good. There's one in London on 18th October, it would appear: http://www.stage-electrics.co.uk/training-programme.aspx
