robinwatkinson
Lighting is one of the key components of live events production; the art of lighting enables us to ensure the actor is heard, helps us to influence mood and atmosphere or even sell a product. Understanding how to engage with the creative elements of the production ensures we can select the correct technology to deliver our expectations. This Lighting course will help you to achieve this. Our training course in Lighting for live events is delivered at BACKSTAGE ACADEMY® in South Kirkby, Wakefield, West Yorkshire in the North of the UK. The ACADEMY is based at the LS-Live rehearsal studio facility which includes a 17,644 rehearsal arena for some of the world's leading music productions, TV and film projects and events. This Lighting course for live events looks at: 1. What is light? - How do we perceive light, the theory of light and the art of light. 2. Basic lighting design principles – Designing for events, live concerts and the corporate market differs greatly from theatre. From design case studies to masterclasses with experts this course looks at the basic techniques that help you to design for other sectors of the live events industry. 3. Lighting equipment – A look at the building blocks and interconnects that form a modern lighting system. From lanterns to control desks, it’s an overview of the latest developments and techniques for delivering complex lighting shows. 4. Visualisation and pre-programming – How we can use tools such as Cast Software’s WYSIWYG to visualise our designs to the client long before we get to production. This also helps us to save valuable time by pre-programming many elements of our show prior to the event get in.
