Stargaze Studios Posted March 16, 2005 Posted March 16, 2005 I want to connect my Behringer LC24124 desk with a 15 pin D connecter to the bleecon analog connector on the Sirius dimmer pack. There are two dimmer packs each with a separate bleecon cable. Is there any way of connecting these to my controller? I have just read a topic very similar, (read it here) but I think the dimmer packs in that topic were different. Any help/suggestions will be much appreciated! http://www.stuckey.users.digital-crocus.com/LC24124.jpg http://www.stuckey.users.digital-crocus.com/analogout.jpg http://www.stuckey.users.digital-crocus.com/sirius.jpg
bruce Posted March 16, 2005 Posted March 16, 2005 That's not a Bleecon - it's a 8-pin locking DIN. Bleecon's have the same pin layout but a different locking arrangement. Building the cable should be trivial if you're at all handy with a soldering iron - you'll need the appropriate plugs and some 8-core cable (actually, 7 will be fine). Pin-out for the dimmer is on http://freespace.virgin.net/tom.baldwin/pinout-8din.html You need to wire up the ground line (pin 8 on each DIN) to pin 15 on the D connector. Then wire the 6 signal lines - pins 1-6 on the D to one DIN 1-6 and pins 7-12 on the D to pins 1-6 on the other DIN. Leave pin 7 unconnected. Maplin sell standard 8-pin DIN plugs with plastic shells for about 50p. They'll do the job, but don't have the locking ring. The metal ones with the locking ring are better, if you can get hold of them. Bruce. Edit: clarified things a bit!
