Pete Alcock
Hi all, I often have need to plug 13A-equipped gear into 15A sockets on the rig (some of my hire kit deliberately has 13A plugs on since it mainly goes out to schools and Churches), and I have the usual short adaptor cables. Anyway, I saw this at Heathrow today and bought two. It's meant for South Africa (who apparently use 15A sockets), but it's well made and, apart from non-sleeved pins, is ideal for theatrical use. £4.99 from Rolling Luggage. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y24/petealcock/Plugthing1.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y24/petealcock/Plugthing2.jpg Here's another thing - if you want to be really hazardous, you can even plug a 2Amp plug into it too!! http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y24/petealcock/Plugthing3.jpg Yes I know, highly NOT recommended etc. etc. All the best, Pete. Brian
Neat, beats making up adaptor cables any day. I wonder how much they are in South Africa? (I've got a contact out there).
Bryson
Here's another thing - if you want to be really hazardous, you can even plug a 2Amp plug into it too!! <{POST_SNAPBACK}>And, by the look of it, US 110v plugs too... Could be very useful. Shame it's not black!
Freddie
shame it's not blackPlug in a plug, plug into a 15A socket and spray paint? (The plug + socket obviously used to stop the pins + contacts geting painted). V. Neat.
bruce
I've got a few of them in a box somewhere. They date back to the days when 15A sockets were being replaced by 13A for UK domestic wiring. I remember about 20 years ago, when I started playing in the band, we would occasionally end up in a hall which still had old 15A mains wiring and round pin plugs..... Bruce.
