jona1984 Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 I've noticed the tilt movement of one of our Robe 575 spots to be quite stiff, compared to the pan movement which feels normal and moves more easily. I've had the shell off and blown it out with a compressor but I'm unsure as to what could cause this. I thought about trying to spray some lubricant into the tilt arm mechanism but I worried that this might not be a sensible idea so thought I'd ask you guys! :-) Anybody have any experience with this?
Richard CSL Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 try using a bit of indenitured alcahol (as it evaporates after flushing) on the motor bearings at the rear of the tilt stepper motor. keep the head moving whilst appliying the liquid, you should find the motor frees up after a while.
Joe White Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 If you unplug the wireset to the motor(s) is it still really stiff? If it isn't your fault could actually lie in the wireset or stepper ic .If it is then drop of medium oil into the front and back bearings on the motor(s). keep motor(s) unplugged and move head back and forth to loosen (keeping the motor unplugged protects the drivers)
karatron Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 you are almost there for a new motor with oil you will some extra days of life good luck with that
