kerry davies Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 CD253 – A consultation on the revised Approved Code of Practice (ACOP) L24 - “Workplace health, safety and welfare"This consultative document invites views on the revised Approved Code of Practice (ACOP) L24 - "Workplace health, safety and welfare". L24 is relevant to a wide range of people, employers, building owners, managers and worker representatives. The ACOP has been revised in response to Professor Löfstedt’s independent review of health and safety legislation ‘Reclaiming health and safety for all’. The consultation aims to establish if the changes make it easier for employers to understand and meet their legal obligations. For those who have buildings/works/office management responsibilities including academics and teachers another consultation in response to Loftstedt. Go on the HSE website and search for "CD 253" and it will come up. (The direct link they provided sends you to a different consultation page.)
Brian Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 For an exercise which was touted as reducing the burden of H&S on business it seems... a) to be generating a lot of paperwork andb) to not be making any changes to what was already in place. It strike me that what would make the biggest difference is to make it a criminal offence to call yourself a 'health and safety consultant' without knowing WTF you are talking about.
