Judge Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 I a currently working on a project that involves touring a 3 screen system. These screens are about 2.5m x 1.5m made of plywood on a lightweight frame. Each has to have its own little projector mounted 1.5 meter in front. Up till now they have been using a frame made of scaff pipe which is difficult to fly and to level so I have cooked up a scheme to make a structure out of truss. But what to buy? Last time I used small truss was Astralite and its horrid with its nasty spigot couplers that get stuck. But it is about as strong as we need, and about the right size - if anything we could go smaller, iif there is such a thing. So, lightweight, triangular or square, pref no more that a foot across, prefereably less. What is around these days?Cheersj
James Remo Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 Total Fabs XO truss is very lightweight and very strong, and very shiny. Comes in tri and square.
xllx Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 If you can go smaller, have a look at Trilite 100 it is designed for retail and display. The truss uses a slimmer 1" tube, available as square or triangular and in either 6" or 9" from memory. Obviously it is less strong than traditional 2" truss but all the weight loadings are on Optikinetics website so you can see if it is up to the job.
trussmonkey Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 James Thomas 30cm Triangular Supertruss. Very light and very strong.
