richie1575 Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 Hello All! Hazers... Can anyone help? I would like an oils cracker type hazer. I've owned foggers and "fazers" but would like an oil based hazer! American DJ make a unit which looks good and claims to be heater-less. The problem is that it doesn't seem to be available in the UK! I can buy a 220v one from the US for about £300 incl import charges etc. before I do, has anyone and advice or alternative UK machines. I want my beams to be seen but no fog... If that makes sense! Many thanks!Rich
jonathanhill Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 I would be wary of buying a 220V anything if our line voltage is 240V. Pumps and heaters will tolerate over voltage for a little while but will then fail, in a similar fashion to over voltaged lamps. ReelFX's DF50 is a classic, but they ain't cheap. The Rolls Royce is the MDG Atmosphere but that really is expensive. In this area, like so many others, you gets what you pays for.
Wol Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 our line voltage is 240V "Voltage tolerance of 230 V +10%/−6% (216.2 V to 253 V)"
jonathanhill Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 I am aware of the nominal voltage and the higher and lower limits. Even on a 230V supply a 220V rated piece of equipment will suffer damage. Generally, the UK line voltage is higher than the nominal.
