Details here.

I could have sworn I'd already contributed to this one but it must have been a previous one. It's not a section of spectrum I've personally used but presumably there's plenty of radio mic (and other) kit out there that can be licensed in there?

1.6 When we refer to the 700 MHz band in this document, we mean the frequency range 694-790 MHz. Figure 1 below, which is reproduced from the UHF Strategy Statement displays the location of this spectrum alongside other spectrum in UHF bands IV and V.

It is regarding mobile broadband, ie Internet on mobile devices via the cellular network system. It would appear that they wish to extend the current band into the 700MHz band, presumably due to greater building penetration and increased demand for 4G services.

As I understand this, it is about shunting Freeview down the spectrum into 600MHz and then opening up 700MHz to 4G etc. However this will of course have a knock on effect on the current users of 600MHz which includes PMSE.

But it would mean relocating Freeview, which means replacing an unknown number of TV aerials across the nation, and replicating the interference problem currently being measured by at800 where TV boosters pick up 4G signals. It also means shifting some of the Programme Making and Special Events crowd (again) and reducing the bandwidth available to White Space devices which haven't even got UK approval yet.

So PMSE haven't had enough of a shafting from OFCOM yet? Great. Glad I went for digital radio mics! Maybe a little longer before OFCOM find away of c0cking up 2.4ghz too.....
