dj-joshua Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 Hello right im a university student and we have hired a Jem Glaciator fogger for our dance production however I think there may be an issue. we powered it up and it came on you could hear the refrigeration unit start up and run but as soon as we connect it to DMX it stops making any noise however produces fog without any issues any idea if the refrigeration unit is still on? It sounds like it starts up every time it's disconnected from the DMX chain but once connected it stops. All the rocker switches are correctly placed on the machine too. As I said it works fine from the desk but just seems weird?
dmoorcroft Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 Is it definitely the refrigeration unit and not the fan that appears to stop working when connected to data? Glaciators don't have the option to control the refrigeration unit so unlikely it's that. Does the unit work completed as it should through the console (first channel for pump, second channel for fan? I'd suggest its more likely the fan stops working when connected to DMX as the value for that channel is set to zero on the console. Ensure the address of the glaciator is as intended and that both channels are up. Just my suggestion of course, and I'm sure others will have others.
pete LD Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 It is working fine. You have to tell it via DMX to be on! Set the density channel to what ever you want and it should kick in. Best thing to do is then park that channel so it stays on for the whole show! Pete
dj-joshua Posted April 17, 2013 Author Posted April 17, 2013 Thanks for all the response managed to fix it the device just needed inverting on the desk. Should of mentioned I was using a Congo desk. Cheers
