kosma Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 Any advice on shimmer curtains please? We are planning on using one for our production of Mack and Mabel in May. There are loads of options on internet but some are from 'party' shops which are quite cheap and some from 'stage' shops that are more expensive.. Has anyone had experience of using 'party' shop curtains? Are they likely to break on first use? Thanks so much for your help!Lorna Robinson SM Nailsea Musicals :D
paulears Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 Most of the ones are made from the same material, which is never that strong. If people play with it (kids!) it snaps off. Don't forget that it's also called slash curtain - and this brings back more theatrical style companies. Difference are really width of the sections, drop and sometimes width of the individual slashes. The theatrical suppliers often have different lengths. If they are not touched they last for years, if they get fiddled with, days! Ive never found very much difference. I've also noted the brands never seem to be the same twice, no matter where they come from if you have a few months between orders.
