gunner Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 I am currently running sound and av via qlab on my macbook pro. Every so often a cue will run for a couple of seconds, drop then come back. My first thought was that as the av is running from isadora via midi, that maybe that was trying to process something, thus causing the drop. However since this is done with early in the show I have run a script to close this and the problem still exists. All the media is on the internal hard drive and is set to not allow the hard drive to sleep. Wifi is turned off and spotlight has been disabled. I am currently running the audio through a numark stereo I/o audio interface, but will try running it from the headphone output via DI box in the morning in case this is the problem, but I've not had thus issue before with this interface. Is there anything else anyone can think of that may be causing the problem? Many ThanksDave
Dj Dunc Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Are you preloading the cues? Try inserting a load cue to load up either all tracks if its a small show or do it in stages as needed. I have had that issue in the past. Doesnt matter if the hard drive has gone to sleep or not.
billy jim Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 What format are the files in? I've found that when using mp3's with qlab, some tracks will not load fully on the first try, whereas the same tracks converted to wav, whilst no better sound quality, do not glitch at all.It might be worth converting your files to something *less* compressed, despite the bigger file size, it's less work for qlab to be doing.
gunner Posted March 12, 2013 Author Posted March 12, 2013 I've added a couple of load cues this morning and converted all the .mp3 files to .wav files as well. Having left the laptop on for a while and come back they all now seem to be running, but s**ds law that when I get an audience in this evening that's when it will most likely go wrong again of this hasn't fixed it.
Solstace Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 So: Did it work with your live audience? (assuming tonight was a gig-night...) ;)
