godd2
Hello,Let me begin with I know little about sound really but have to do it. I bought these monitor speakers awhile ago and have not been able to make them work.Last year I real sound guy was able to use them and said something about needing an amp to make them work or something. I have tried to hook them up to a small Yamaha EMX512SC 8 Input Powered Mixer with Dual 500 Watt Amplifier and still have not had luck getting sound out of them, can someone suggest what I need to do to make these work? thank you
MarkPAman
The "real sound guy" was correct, you do need an amp, the Yamaha you have should be OK for this. It's possibly a bit bigger than you need, but that's not a problem if you're careful. The amp has both Speakon & jack outs (on the back) & the speaker has jack inputs, so a couple of simple jack - jack speaker leads should be all you need. Is that how you have it set up? alistermorton
This might sound like a stupid question, but you did plug the speakers into the rear panel speaker sockets, and not the front panel main (line level) out?
godd2
I used the 1/4 in speaker wire plugs and went from the back out puts of the yamaha....I will need to try it again....so my next question is how do I make these work coming from the main sound board if I am plugging into an output back stage. Do I need to have some type of amp between the speaker and output?
