LXbydesign
So - last night I was at O2 arena watching Mr Bip-bop (I was looking after a younger friend..not because I WANTED to go! ** laughs out loud **) and thinking just how unimaginative the staging was. I know most of crowd was little teenage girls but even so - the entire design lacked any kind of flair and imagination. With the amount of money behind the Beiber name - Im surprised more wasnt spent on production. Just a basic end on stage - a few risers, band up at the back, split center for entrance main screen - other blocks of screens infront of the raised area. Nothing very exciting at all. Compared to Robbie Williams 'Take the Crown' tour (again at O2)which I watched after I had got home. Lovely functional stage in the round. lots of scenic elements flying in - light bulbs, LED changing lamps on bridge railings, gauzes for projection, neons, an LX truss with some old school very bright rotating disco pillar things. I also loved the way they used the projectors for ariel beamwork even when the guazes wernt flown in. A much tighter and visual show then Beibers The noise of screaming when Beiber came on for his first entrance flying through the split screen with his angel wings on must have hit 160db or so at least! The PA nearly struggled at that moment. Anybody else see these 2 gigs ? What did you think ?
gyro_gearloose
You might be on your own with this. I don't think anyone else will admit to sampling the delights(?) of a Justin Beiber concert :D
callumb
You could hold a JB concert in a field of pig muck and it would still sell out... The promoters know that. Why spend 1000s on an amazing set when you know that no matter what crap you put out it will sell out.

LXbydesign
Comments above are true I guess. Its a shame. Mind you - to be fair, Robbie Williams sold out there 3 nights in a row (Beibers only doing 4 gigs) and it was money well spent. The likes of Willie Williams heading up the Creatives you can see straight away why its a better show visually. If Beibers tour crew are all american/canadian, then it would take them twice as long to do anything anyway - so they couldnt get anything in too tricky during an 8 hour fit-up before the show B-) No offence intended but US crews arent really the fastest in the world....
