samchurchill
Hi all, I have 4 x Sennheiser ew100 receivers in a rack: 2 x G1 and 2 x G2. I'd like to replace one of them (as there's no more room in the rack) with a G3, but wondered if you could tell me whether the mounting solutions are compatible. For obvious reasons, I'd like it to be one of the G1 receivers that I replace, but it's not a deal-breaker if it has to be a G2. Any help appreciated, before I go out and buy something that won't fit! Thanks, Sam
Mr Steve
Nope, they aren't compatible. GA2 kit for G2 and GA3 for G3.
ninjadingle
Not having a G3 to hand, you might be able to do it if you have the correct GA1 bracket for your G1's? It is, in essence, a tray so if the holes line up on the underside would it not work??
boswell
The holes don't line up on the underside Been there, done that, G1,G2,G3 are all differentGood marketing (design) from Senn so you have to buy new brackets
samchurchill
Thanks for your help everyone, that's a shame. I think I probably have to go for it anyway so might see if I'm able to drill new holes in the GA1 mounting tray. Thanks again.
Stuart91
Thanks for your help everyone, that's a shame. I think I probably have to go for it anyway so might see if I'm able to drill new holes in the GA1 mounting tray. I hate to be the bearer of more bad news, but I don't think you will be able to fit G2 or G3 receivers into the GA1 tray. The G2 and G3 rackmounts hook onto the receiver, rather than being a tray that the receiver sits in. I think the additional width they take up means that it would be tricky to fit one into the GA1 tray. If you like, I can try it out when I'm back in the warehouse on Monday, as I've got a GA1 lying around just now.
samchurchill
Ah, I see, thanks. With a little more research I've found out that the G1, G2 & G3 should be compatible, so am just going to try leaving the rack alone and using the G2 receiver for the G3 transmitter. Will check tomorrow morning and will report back.
