gdavey Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 I'm having trouble using the Magic Q Media Centre. I am trying to use it to convert .mov[/url] or .avi files to cmv files to put on my desk. It worked a couple of times and then stopped. I was converting them straight in to the movies folder. Now it simply isn't doing it. There are no error messages. Virtual Dub loads, it looks like it is doing it but then when I look in the movies folder it isn't there. When I select to not put them in to the movies folder, it does convert the file, but when I put the file on the desk it is all garbled. I tried installing the Media Centre on another machine but had the same issue. Any ideas?
Wol Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 Can you upload the videos you're using to google drive/dropbox or similar and then email a link across to support@chamsys.co.uk, then we can try and reproduce the problem here. Can you also go into MMC, and quote in the email which version of media center you're using as well. It should just be in the form of a date in the menubar at the top.
gdavey Posted January 29, 2013 Author Posted January 29, 2013 I've e-mailed you a google drive link to one of the files I am trying to convert. There is no date in the menu bar. Nothing at all except Magic Q Media Centre

Nothing at all except Magic Q Media Centre It's possible you have a fairly old version of it then. What version of MagicQ are you running at the moment? It should look something like: http://I.imgur.com/WGoyJ3n.png
Wol Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 Can you try replacing the executable within Program Files with this file here: http://download.magicq.co.uk/download_file.php?file_id=104&type=doc and see if that works any more sucessfully?
gdavey Posted January 29, 2013 Author Posted January 29, 2013 When I try to run that .exe file it just sits on the start bar, but won't actually run.
Wol Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 Did you copy it over the top of the existing executable, rather than just running it from your downloads folder? If you try to run it on its own without the rest of the normal MagicQ files there (showfiles / heads etc), then it won't run.
