paulears
Many of us use the companies house register from time to time. There's now an app for your phone - that seems to be easier to use than the on-line web version.link to the web site EDIT I just got a link to this companyduedil Free info much more detailed than what you get on companies house. One of the companies we've previously mentioned on the BR shows interesting info I didn't know, and this website also lists their value and assets - worth looking at I think when we need a bit of background. timd
Duedil is a fantastic resource. Especially useful is the feature that shows you all the companies a particular director is connected with.
chelgrian
Duedil is a fantastic resource. Especially useful is the feature that shows you all the companies a particular director is connected with. Fantastic, does explain a few things about a company I dealt with last year. Will be even better when they've created an app for it, it says in their FAQ one is in the pipeline.
paulears
I've been having a look at some of the companies members have brought to everyone's attention over the past few years, and tracking the history of certain people is fascinating, dissolved company after dissolved company - and in one case double figures of them! An excellent resource allowing you to keep track of people who seem to excel at dissolving businesses and starting new ones. Please don't mention any of these - it does seem the one thing dissolved companies do excel at is preventing people from talking about them! Any members with short or long term memories can do it as a kind of test. A track record of failures isn't exactly something people wish to promote. Pete McCrea
Just a brief not about duedil - looking at a few businesses I know of, heck mine included, some of the info is not accurate. So while it is a very useful resource, it does need to be treated with care.
paulears
I think the most interesting is some of my colleagues who actually have a different name to the one I know them by!

So while it is a very useful resource, it does need to be treated with care. Since their data is compiled from publicly accessible sources doesn't that mean that your information is inaccurate somewhere else and that they are just aggregating it? It might use be useful to ask them where that data came from so it can be corrected.
dbuckley
Maybe its more that the information is not timely...?
cfmonk
Certainly not that accurate.... Cascade Events does literary performances apparently...
kerry davies
I would love to know how to wipe the web clean of inappropriate and inaccurate information about me but that is just the joy of the net. Cascade Events Center in Texas and Cascade Literary Events refer to similar rubbish as far as Chris is concerned and it is easily done to get incorrect links made by uninformed third parties. I used to be confused with a company that made curved glass fronted displays for fish fryers. Now some gits have added an "S", nicking my name, and they get all the grief. Retirement is KULE!
