hjwalker Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Hello :) I'm currently at East 15 drama school and given a project in which I have to make a model box. However, I've complety forgotten how to get a 1:25 scale from a picture in order to then create a technical drawing any help would be gratefull :D
Gerry Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 First of all, welcome to the forum. As for your question it's quite simple to do a 1:25 scale drawing. If the original was 25 cm then the scale drawing is 1cm.So if you had a oblong shape 1 metre x 2 metres then on the drawing you would have an oblong shape 4 cms X 8 cms.Don't quite follow what you mean by " how to get a 1:25 scale from a picture" as it all depends on the scale of the picture to the size of the original object.CheersGerry
paulears Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 If you only have a picture and no measurements then the only solution is to estimate from things in the pictures that you may know the size of. Doorways decking people etc. you can't scale from a perspective view but you cans from an oblique or isometric drawing. What is the picture you want to use?
Rogue Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 The easiest thing to do is to take measurements from the image and then divide by 25 to get your 1:25 scale measurement... If you can blow up the image to a multiple of 25 you'll be making it a lot easier for yourself. :)
andy_s Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 err, surely this only works if your image is lifesize...??
Rogue Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 My mistake, I thought the OP said "of a picture" not "from a picture".
