Mr Steve Posted December 2, 2012 Posted December 2, 2012 Hello, I was doing a show Friday evening where one of our G3 receivers developed a fault. It seems that the unit is "frozen". RF was showing as full, AF was nothing, battery indicator was at 1 bar even with the transmitter switched off. If you PFL the mic channel you can hear a feint digital noise. Switching off and on did not solve it. Transmitter was behaving normally according to it's display. Has anyone experienced this fault?
cedd Posted December 2, 2012 Posted December 2, 2012 It may well be a fault, but before you completely rule it out, have you tuned another receiver to that frequency? Does the receiver do the same in a different location? It could potentially be an interference problem - your receiver may well be seeing that level of RF, regardless of what the transmitter was doing. Being full scale on the meters, if it was interference it'd most likely be a pretty reasonable size source, or something very close by. Like I say, it may well be a fault, but it's just worth checking first.
Mr Steve Posted December 4, 2012 Author Posted December 4, 2012 In usual s*ds law, I took some time to have a look at this yesterday and the receiver with it's transmitter seem to be working properly with nothing changed. So perhaps there was interference.... or maybe the receiver got hot and bothered in its rack? There were 14 units used on the show, and they are all set to freqs that work nicely together over ch70 and 38.
soundiesam Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 Ive had this issue before.... I believe I established that it was a software fault as I rebooted the unit and it worked fine.... I spoke to Sennhieser and they said the same thing that they believe it to be a software issue..... sam
