What kind of VGA / DVI external (usb3) capture device do you use?

Hi There,

 

I'm a lighting and video tech and have a Arkaos MediaMaster mediaserver running on my laptop. Lately it occurs more often that clients have been wanting to feed signal into my system.

 

I have been using the epiphan VGA2usb lr but recently it started crashing. I think its overheating. Anyways im orientating myself on a other solution. Possibly usb3.

 

What type of external VGA capture devices do you use?

 

I've noticed the Intensity Shuttle for USB 3.0. Does anybody have any experience with this? Maybes even in ArKaos MediaMaster?

we use the black magic stuff and if fantastic

Just noticed that the black magic stuf doesend do VGA/DVI input.

I'd have thought Matrox might make something along these lines - maybe one of these? http://www.matrox.com/video/en/products/convert_dvi/
