Hi there, just wondering if anyone can tell me the time limits children are allowed to be face masks and 'fat suits' for on stage, we are doing a production of Snow White. We have 7 children in full face masks and 'fat suits' and just want to check on any regulations. All help welcome.

Whatever some pen-pusher in your local authority decides. You'll need to check with them. There was a recent thread where the LA decided that a washing line across the stage was verbotten.

I've done this and it's not been a problem at all. This is when the kids are heavily protected and paperworked to the hilt! Heads are donned in the wings before their entrance, and they don't do much physical stuff to get too ht, as the masks tend to make running and dancing impossible. They just wear t-shirts and shorts usually, so have probably been the most cosy of the cast. The dwarf scenes are quite short, so we've never had any issues at all - and nobody complained about being in them - apart from the fact they smell and they can't see much.

As Paul said, really. The Production Manager would do a risk assesment and there's no reason they can't make it work quite easily. It's more the length of time that they are allowed in the venue at all you ned to be worrying about (tech rehearsals etc!).

These I assume are the kind of thing we're talking about - in fact the most tricky part was vision - the smaller one's heads fell forwards, and being little kids, they didn't mention they couldn't actually see - so we had to be aware that some needed constant care! Heat wasn't an issue at all!
