Pete McCrea
What would I be using it for? And is it the whole system or just the Cabs?
PDD
Well personally I'd love to upgrade our theatre sound system with £30k... centre pair, left and right, and a rear left and right set, and a couple of new speakers for the stage too. Martin Wavefront Theatre, d&b, or Turbosound I think. Not sure on models because I haven't looked at a catalogue in a while. I quite fancy some kind of hard-disk/sampler type computer system for sound effects etc as well. All sorts of toys I could buy with that.
benge
£30K is for a whole system, full band spanking new (NO Upgrades)
bruce
30k to do what? Personally, I'd spend maybe a tenth of that on a small, but adequate, lightweight system that would be ideal for my band (mainly acoustic playing small venues), which could fit into the back of my car, and which would take into account my bad back. I'd then spend about the same again on a holiday, and throw the rest at the mortgage. But that's just me - that's how I'd spend it. But no doubt you want to do something different. You just haven't told us what :) Bruce.
gareth
£30K is for a whole system, full band spanking new (NO Upgrades)<{POST_SNAPBACK}>But that still doesn't tell us what the system's going to be used for. Corporate work? Concert work? Theatre work? What sort of environment - fixed rig or touring system? You could spend £30k on a blinding system for an installation in a theatre, but it would be totally the wrong kind of gear for a touring concert rig. Bobbsy
Hopefully £5.01 on tea, milk and biscuits during the install....and £29,990 for beer AFTER work! Seriously, for £30,000 we're talking a relatively serious system...but this means we need a lot more info on the planned use and venue before we can even begin to offer meaningful advice.
