Hello all,

I wanted to ask you all a question on active speakers!

what sizes active speakers are most popular?

  • 8 inch, 10 inch, 12 inch, 15 inch 2 way full range
  • 12 inch, 15 inch, 18 inch Sub woofer (single)

What brand is the best value?

What price would you expect to pay for this item?

Sorry for the boring questions but it would really help me make decide what product to use..

Thank you for your time http://www.blue-room.org.uk/public/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif

Hi Alex

What are you going to use them for? I use all of those at one time or another, depending on what I'm doing!

Have you go to transport them in a small car or a large truck?

Do you want to spend less than £500 or more than £5000?

I would use them for mobile discos, To fit in a standard size car. I was looking to spend around 800 pounds for a 12 inch box..

Hi Alex

See you've moved from MOS to Pioneer, hope you're well & like the new job.

Back to your question re driver sizes, on the mobile scene 15" full range boxes are popular because they are used as an allrounder, i.e. on their own for small events without subs. However, if you're planning on using subs most of the time, a 12" mid-top box will give more pleasing results in conjunction with 18" (or 15") subs.

Where compact size is important, i.e. for those that want to transport the kit in a car as opposed to a van, the smaller 12" powered subs prove popular. We've sold a few of the dbtechnologies 12SUBD to mobile DJs that are very pleased with them.

Hope this helps.

Best,

Tony
