benge
I have a Showtec 6 channel dimmer pack.... and I'm having problems with the connections on the back of it. The linked pics is a cut out from the manual. From wot I can workout that all the lives have to be connected together along with the input live, that doesn't seem right to me. The other link is a copy of the manual that I got with the dimmer pack. I'm hoping to go down the 3 phase route as I have 3 phase available to me at church. I hope you can help Ben http://www.unitechweb.co.uk/benge/dimmer_instructions1.jpg Below is the full manual link.... 56K BewareManual

Sorry to say it, but if that's not clear / obvious, you should get a pro electrician in.
benge
Sorry..... I prop didnt make my self clear. Im having trouble with the output..... I understand about the Neutrals.... but its the Live's.... where are they mean't to be connected to? Ben
bruce
The live outputs go to each individual light circuit - they should NOT be commoned. The neutrals and earths are common. But, as Andrew said, if this is not clear to you then you need to get an electrician. Don't take risks. Bruce.
benge
the way that I have read the manual was that the netruals are individual and the lives are common. in which I thought was wrong.... Ben

Ben<{POST_SNAPBACK}>not as I read the picture. Mind you, it's a stunningly bad diagram. The little circle with the X in is meant to represent the load. So one side goes to the terminal block, the other goes to Neutral.
benge
ok.... let me get this straight The first block is the output from the pack.... the top half of the first block is the live, and the bottom half of the block is the neutrals Ben

The left-hand block of 6 are the dimmed live outputs which go off to the lamps. The neutral returns from the lamps need to be commoned together and then connected to the incoming neutral. However, they don't seem to give you any way of doing this
benge
I thought that the diagram was a bit confussing.....
